I once had a life, where air filled my
lungs instead of poison; where my mind
thought for itself and not thoughts full
of toxins. I was once simply ordinary
until i met a friend named monster who
showed me how to be extraordinary. no
more work for this little girl, just
a monster to make my head swirl. deeper
and deeper away from everyone he took me, to
show me a life only the monster could help
me be. higher and higher he took me, until
high was all that i knew how to be. so far up i
was, that i couldnt see the ground and all
i could feel was the chaos all around. i
couldnt get enough of this monster, he
changed my life with this friend named
disaster. together the three of us walked
hand in hand on a moving surface know as
quick sand. faster and faster the hands
of life spun, bringing me closer to a
doom that could not be undone. my
life became one without meaning, i
couldnt break free, no one heard me
screaming. finally someone came along
that forgave me for doing all my
wrong. He showed me with love
and talked about HIs plans for me that
came from above. He showed me the evil
of my two friends. He helped bring monster
and disaster to an end. He gave me air to
once again breathe, and a hopeful future
for all to see. my Savior in the end
was the only one i needed as my friend.
monster and disaster still hide under
my bed, hoping to convince me their
evil is all in my head. but i will
stay on my knees, showing the
world Jesus is all i'll ever need.
