Salvation Army.

So i went and worked in the Salvation Army today.. and we served lunch at eleven, seconds at eleven forty five. and closed the doors at twelve o five.

there was a guy, Eldrige, who came in late. and this is his story.

he'd been living in florida and came back to alabama (montgomery) to stay with his parents until he could go back to where his girlfriend was. well a lot of stuff happened, and he said staying with your momma when you are 40 is not fun. and it doesnt work out too well. and told me not to do it!

he told me he really just wanted food, and he would love to help us do anything we needed, because he didnt just wanna eat and not help. well while he was eating, we sat and carried on a conversation... and he goes ma'am i really just need somewhere to sleep for the next four days. do you know of anywhere i can stay? i went and talked to the lady over our group and got info for him on the housing at salvation army..

i went and sat back down and i told him that he can stay for free at the salvation army up to 7 days. after that it's 12 dollars a night. he said ma'am you are a lifesaver. i have no where to go, and no one to stay with. and he said God is doing something big in your life, thank you so much. i dont know where id be if i didnt come eat. and then he started to cry... i couldnt hold it in. he just broke my heart. and i just started to cry.

God truly used me today. and i believe it with all my heart. He has a major plan for my life. and i am so blessed.

seeing families with children come to eat, because they have no money or food it just broke my heart.

so after volunteering at the salvation army this morning, i know for a fact i am called to do mission work. to share the word of God with other people. "I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." Galatians 2:20 ♥
